How long does the Citroën manufacturer warranty last?

Every new Citroën comes with a 3-year warranty, confirmed directly on Citroën's own UK site: unlimited mileage for the first two years, then capped at 60,000 miles in the third year (100,000 miles for commercial vehicles).

Electric and hybrid vehicles also get an 8-year/100,000-mile warranty for their traction battery, guaranteeing at least 70% of original capacity — separate from, and not part of, the We Care programme described below.

Repairs use Citroën Genuine Parts, branded Mopar — the same Stellantis-group parts brand also confirmed on the Vauxhall and Peugeot pages, since all three are part of the same corporate group.

Citroën We Care — service-activated extension

Citroën We Care provides additional coverage once the standard 3-year manufacturer warranty ends, for as long as you keep servicing your car at a Citroën Authorised Repairer. It covers key components including the engine, gearbox, and drivetrain, and remains valid until your next scheduled service — continuing this way up to a total of 8 years or 100,000 miles from first registration, whichever comes first.

We Care applies to all Citroën passenger cars — petrol, diesel, mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric — registered from 1 June 2025 onwards (excluding the Ami). It automatically transfers to a new owner if the car is sold, and Citroën allows a service grace period of up to 2 months or 1,800 miles before repeatedly missed services put your cover at risk.

What's not covered

Citroën's standard warranty and We Care both exclude normal wear-and-tear items — filters, brake pads, wiper blades, tyres, and fluids — unless the issue is directly caused by a covered manufacturing defect. Damage from accidents, misuse, neglect, or non-approved modifications isn't covered either.

Citroën's separate paid Extended Warranty

Distinct from We Care, Citroën also offers a paid Extended Warranty for cars and commercial vehicles up to 7 years old with fewer than 75,000 miles at the time of purchase. It covers all components for mechanical and electrical failure, with the exception of exhaust systems and diesel particulate filters (catalytic converters are covered against internal failure only). Claim value is capped at the vehicle's purchase price. It's available as an Annual Policy, a Monthly Renewing Policy, or — in the last 45 days of an existing warranty — a Pay As You Go policy that auto-renews monthly and expires automatically at 120,000 miles or 8 years old.

Keeping your warranty valid

Services must be carried out within 1 month or 1,000 miles of the manufacturer's specified intervals. Retain your service receipts, as they may be required to support a claim.
