How long does the Suzuki manufacturer warranty last?

Every new Suzuki comes with a 3-year or 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty, confirmed directly on Suzuki's own UK site.

Suzuki's Service Activated Warranty

Once your standard 3-year manufacturer warranty ends, Suzuki's Service Activated Warranty takes over — activated the first time you have a qualifying service at a Suzuki service partner, and renewed each time you service the car again, up to a maximum of 10 years from first registration or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Each renewal is valid for 12 months or 9,000-12,500 miles (the exact mileage cap depends on your specific model's service interval).

This applies to eligible used Suzukis too — even ones without a full, up-to-date Suzuki service history. In that case, the car undergoes an initial health check, and any faults found at that point are excluded from cover unless you have them repaired at your own cost during the qualifying service. The warranty stays with the vehicle, so it transfers to a new owner if the car is sold while cover is active.

What's not covered

Suzuki's warranty excludes bodywork items like sheet metal, body panels, paintwork, glass, mirrors, upholstery, carpets, and interior/exterior trim, along with locks, hinges, and handles. The Service Activated Warranty specifically also excludes damage from corrosion, frost, salt, hail, windstorm, lightning, tree sap, bird droppings, or water ingress/flooding, plus any defect that already existed before the service-activated cover began, and any vehicle modified from Suzuki's original specification.

Anti-perforation (rust) is covered separately for 12 years and is transferable between owners, but only for rust caused by a genuine manufacturing defect.

Genuine parts and electric models

Genuine Suzuki parts fitted to a car are covered by the remainder of the vehicle's original warranty (up to 3 years/60,000 miles); if the car is out of warranty, genuine parts instead carry a 12-month warranty of their own.

Suzuki has announced that its upcoming all-electric e Vitara will come with a 10-year EV battery warranty — longer than the roughly 8-year warranty typical across the industry. This applies to the e Vitara specifically, not necessarily to other current Suzuki models.
